Tell us a little bit about your home life…
Life is always a bit hectic with a two-year-old around! I work full time, so my main priority as soon as I get home is spending quality time with my family - and squeezing in a workout, if I can. At the weekends, we’re often out and about with friends in search of new restaurants, and of course, family dinner on a Sunday with Emily and co. is a non-negotiable in our household.
Why cake?
There’s so much versatility when it comes to cake, and it really allows you to be creative at every step. It could be just playing around with flavours, colours and layers or even the finishing touches like decorations. For me, cake has this amazing ability to bring joy to any occasion and I’m so happy that we get to be a part of these special moments for our Cutter & Squidge community.
What one ingredient could you not live without?
Mango! It’s starting to come into season, which I’m really excited about. We’ve just finished filming a new mango recipe, which will be on the blog very soon. Judging from the team’s reactions to trying it, you won’t be disappointed. Watch this space!
What are the things for you that spark joy?
It's the little moments, the unexpected. Discovering something tastes amazing, receiving a gift when you don't expect it. It's a little treat to add to your week.
What’s been your proudest moment so far?
There's been so many, so far! The proudest is probably what I've achieved with my sister: a primarily female-led business, 100% family-owned and included in the Sunday Times 100 as one of Britain’s fastest-growing private companies. If someone had told me that when we had just started out, I would never have believed them! Oh, and having thousands of loyal Cutter & Squidge fans who have been with us along this journey - we couldn't do it without you!
