We are a family-run, female-led business based in London. As founders we care about the impact our products are having on the world and the people that enjoy them. Our efforts to become more sustainable and reduce our carbon footprint are a constant work in progress. We recognise our responsibility to help protect the planet. We are committed to minimising the impact our company has on the environment and supporting those who are working to improve environmental sustainability.
Our strategy
Our environmental-footprint strategy seeks to address greenhouse-gas emissions through transport, ingredients and supplies provenance, as well as waste and packaging across our entire operation. We strive to continually strengthen our environmental practices. We will continue to comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
Our ingredients ethos is to source as many of our ingredients from the UK where possible. We only use British sugar, flour butter and free range eggs. We use non-toxic, all-natural food colourings that come from fruits and vegetables. Many of our products are vegan and do not contain any dairy or egg.
Our wastage: we create products that have Zero wastage or repurpose food wastage into making additional products. We recycle all cardboard and plastic wastage items.
Our packaging: we use as many recyclable materials which have been manufactured in the UK as possible. Our tins are sourced from the UK and use solar power to manufacture. Our plastic items are manufactured in the UK and are recyclable, our paper items are eco-friendly and our cake collars are made from cellulose. We note some items such as cool pouches and ice pouches are only recyclable when available and we work to find alternatives to those items.
Our transport: we use DPD to deliver our parcels nationwide who are moving to electric vehicles and provide us with a carbon certificate each month, see attached. We note that not all DPD vehicles are 100% electric and are working with a third-party courier to improve our deliveries in and around London.
Our communications: we keep the amount of paper communications both within our company and to our customers to a minimum. We discourage printing of internal communications.
