Happy Earth Day from Cutter & Squidge!

It’s Earth Day, a day dedicated to celebrating our planet and reflecting on how we can all do our bit to keep it beautiful. At Cutter & Squidge, we’re all about being as kind to the environment as we can and treading lightly on the Earth while still delivering squidge-tastic cakes you love! This Earth Day, we’re showcasing P. Wilkinson, a family-run business based in London, where sustainability is at the heart of everything they do - we’re super proud to be working with them to create our cake tins.

So, why did we pick P. Wilkinson? Well, for starters, they’ve been in the packaging game for 90 years – that’s a lot of tins! What really stood out to us is their commitment to sustainability; they don’t just talk the talk; they walk the walk. Their Bermondsey factory is home to one of the largest solar farms in the city, with solar panels covering every flat roof, meaning they are able to run their operations using renewable energy. Fun fact, they were actually one of the first companies in the area to adopt solar power – how cool is that?

But it’s not just about the solar panels. P. Wilkinson uses recyclable materials and really focuses on reducing waste throughout their whole production process. We love that their values match ours, and that when we use their tins, we know we’re supporting a company that cares about the planet as much as we do. Plus, their tins are just gorgeous.

We had the best time visiting the P. Wilkinson team and getting a sneak peek behind the scenes. Our very own Lara (NPD & Range Manager) and Becca (Senior Brand Marketing Manager) had the chance to meet the team who make our tins and even build their own personalised ones! The whole experience was super inspiring, and it made us love our packaging even more.
